Investigating the Past, Informing the Future.
Our team at Ethos Heritage CIC brings together a unique blend of professionals with qualifications in archaeology, education, military medicine, mental health, social care, and health and safety. This diverse expertise allows us to create safe, supportive, and enriching environments for everyone who takes part in our projects.
We have extensive experience leading excavations across both community and commercial archaeology sectors, ensuring high standards of practice, training, and public engagement. Alongside our archaeological specialists, we have qualified teachers and social workers who play a vital role in supporting young people and vulnerable members of the community, helping them build confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging.
We are also deeply committed to providing meaningful opportunities for military veterans and members of our emergency services. By engaging with archaeology and heritage, participants can find space for reflection, connection, and wellbeing — strengthening personal resilience while contributing to the shared story of the communities they serve
Who We Are
Have you always wanted to get involved in archaeology or heritage projects, but felt it wasn’t possible for you? We’d love to hear from you.
At Ethos Heritage, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore, learn, and contribute to their local past. Our projects are designed with inclusivity at their core, and we work closely with participants to understand their individual needs, concerns, and goals.
We cater for all requirements on our field schools and community excavations. Whether you have mobility challenges, sensory needs, learning differences, health considerations, or simply feel unsure about what to expect, we will work with you to find practical, respectful solutions. This may include tailored tasks, adapted equipment, flexible participation options, or one‑to‑one support from trained staff.
No barrier is too small or too complex, if something is preventing you from taking part, we want to help remove it.
Archaeology belongs to everyone. If you’re curious, enthusiastic, or simply want to try something new, get in touch with us and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

Heritage is at the heart of understanding who we are.
Heritage is at the heart of understanding who we are as individuals, as neighbours, and as communities.
At Ethos Heritage CIC, we believe that exploring our shared past helps people connect with their identity, strengthen local bonds, and build pride in the places they call home.
When communities come together through heritage, they grow more cohesive, compassionate, and resilient. This sense of belonging supports personal wellbeing and enriches the wellbeing of society as a whole, individuals, as neighbours, and as communities.

Ethos Heritage CIC Mission
Our mission is to widen participation in archaeology and heritage projects, especially among people who have historically felt excluded due to socioeconomic barriers, disability or accessibility needs, or a lack of representation. We believe everyone deserves the chance to explore their heritage and feel pride in the stories that shape their identity.
Ethos Heritage CIC is also deeply committed to supporting military veterans and members of our emergency services. We recognise the unique pressures faced by those who serve, and we create opportunities for them to engage with archaeology and heritage as a pathway to wellbeing, confidence, and connection.
Archaeology and heritage projects can be powerful catalysts for rebuilding self‑esteem, strengthening social skills, fostering community cohesion, and enhancing wellbeing for individuals and groups. By opening the door to meaningful participation, we help people reconnect with themselves, with each other, and with the places they call home.
“Ethos Heritage CIC is committed to helping communities grow stronger, more connected, and more resilient.

At Ethos Heritage CIC, we invite communities to come together as a team to explore the mystery of our shared history and heritage.
Through hands on archaeological discovery, we strengthen community cohesion, celebrate the diversity that enriches our lives, and deepen our connection to the landscapes that sustain us.
Our projects empower people of all backgrounds, ages and ablities to take an active role in uncovering the stories beneath their feet building skills, confidence, and a shared sense of belonging.
Only by working side‑by‑side, we create inclusive spaces where heritage, environment, and community come together, helping local people shape a more connected, resilient, and environmentally aware future
